Party in Paradise 2009  

James “Whitey” Whiting started Party in Paradise in Hawaii around 1979 at Jump Hawaii, Dillingham Airfield.  The Party was designed as an annual event for all Whitey’s friends to come and experience the beauty of Hawaii.  Whitey had moved to Oahu's North Shore from the Chicago area and claimed a low Freak Brothers number. The December 5, 1981 Twin Beech tragedy claimed both Whitey’s life and the aircraft.

In 1984 a community effort to renew the Party was undertaken.  Harry Clark at Genavco Aviation, Honolulu International Airport, provided his C-47 and the Party was on.   Up to 100 people from all over the world would camp out on Dillingham Airfield each year.  Jerry Bird, Roger Ponce and George Jicha were brought over to Hawaii to help organize and teach those in attendance.  Party’s continued into the early 1990s at Skydive Hawaii, until drop zone politics interceded.

North Shore is an all inclusive event organized by Clint Clawson and Joey Jones Feb 23-Mar1, 2009.


Upon arrival at the Honolulu Airport participants will be picked up and shuttled to the North Shore where the fun begins.
Freefall photographer Craig O'Brian will be documenting the weeks adventures with a boogie video and photographs.


Package includes 20 jumps with organizers from 13K over Hawaii's beautiful North Shore.

8 nights luxury beach front accommodation.

Daily shuttles to DZ with a light breakfast and lunch.

Guided memorial mountain top hike over looking the North Shore.

Evening events include Sunday night welcome sunset booze cruise, Wednesday night beach BBQ, Saturday traditional Luau and closing party.

Nightly hourly shuttles to and from Waikiki beach all other nights.

Pre registration price of $2500 is securable with your $200 deposit.

Saturday 2/23 - Arrival day, airport pick up and transportation to accommodations.

Sunday 2/24 - D.Z. check-in. Casual organized jumps, followed by sunset boat cruise in Waikiki to meet and greet the organizers and staff. Shuttle bus departs at 4:00 pm and return directly after.

Monday 2/25 - Memorial mountain hike over looking the North Shore leaves from the drop zone at 10:00am.

Tuesday 2/26 - Shark boat excursion available all day, followed by an evening tour of Waikiki's bars and restaurants. Shuttle bus departs at 6 pm.

Wednesday 2/27 - Trip to swim with the dolphins and snorkeling available all day.

Thursday 2/28 - Cross-country canopy flocking jumps and beach landings organized by Clint Clawson.

Saturday 3/2 - Specialty jumps by all organizers followed by Luau and closing party.
